Hello, lovely snail-mail friend! 🐌💌

Before I begin, I thought I would share a little about the person behind your happy mail.

My name is Marija, and I am the heart and hands behind Daisy Mae Little Things. I am originally from Croatia, but I now live in Ireland with my family, which has become our home. I created this little business because I have always loved beautiful stationery, thoughtful details and the happiness that comes from receiving something personal in the post.

An especially important member of our family is my lovely girl, Cookie, who is always nearby while I am working on new ideas and preparing your snail mail. Her favourite morning routine is exploring the garden and carefully sniffing absolutely everything, as though she is checking what may have changed overnight! 🐶🌼 She brings so much happiness to our days and is, of course, a very important little member of Daisy Mae Little Things.

I hope this little letter finds you well and brings a cosy moment of happiness to your day.

It is hard to believe that we are already reaching the end of summer. The days seem to have passed so quickly, and now there are small signs everywhere that a new season is quietly beginning. Here in Ireland, August often feels like the first little chapter of autumn. The evenings begin to arrive earlier, the air becomes slightly cooler, and every now and then, you notice the first golden leaf resting on the ground. 🍂

We were incredibly lucky with our summer this year. Ireland is not exactly famous for long stretches of warm and sunny weather, so none of us really expected it to last as long as it did! We had so many beautiful bright days, blue skies and warm evenings. It felt like a very special treat, and I tried to enjoy every little bit of sunshine while it was here.

There is something so lovely about a warm Irish evening when the sky stays bright for hours. Everything feels calmer, the flowers seem more colourful, and even an ordinary walk with Cookie becomes a little more special. After having such an unexpectedly sunny summer, it feels strange to realise that the season is already beginning to change.

Although I will miss the long days and warm sunshine, I am also starting to feel excited about autumn. There is something comforting about this time of year, the sound of leaves beneath your feet, cosy jumpers, warm drinks and evenings spent indoors while the weather changes outside. Soon, the trees will be filled with shades of gold, orange and red, and pumpkin season will officially begin. 🎃🍁

I always feel that autumn invites us to slow down a little. It is a lovely season for writing letters, decorating notebooks, starting a new journal or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea. It is also the perfect time for sending happy mail. There is something extra special about finding a handwritten letter waiting for you when the days become cooler and darker.

That is why I wanted this month’s snail mail to carry a little piece of both seasons, the warmth and happiness of our unexpectedly beautiful summer, together with the cosy excitement of autumn waiting just around the corner. I hope that when you open it, it feels like receiving a small envelope filled with colour, kindness and a touch of seasonal magic. 🌼✨
